Aloo Bhath

Method

Step 1: Heat oil in a kadai and fry the potato strips for five minutes. Remove from oil and set aside.
Step 2: Grind green chillies, ginger, cinnamon, dhania turmeric powder together into a paste.
Step 3: Heat butter and fry the ground paste till oil floates on top.
Step 4: Add fried potato strips with curd, saute for five minutes.
Step 5: Add rice and stir - for further 2 - 3 minutes.
Step 6: Add enough water and salt, cover and cook till the rice is done.
Step 7: Garnish with coriander leaves and desiccated coconut and serve hot.

Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Potatoes - 4 (Cut into thin strips)
  • fresh curd - 11/2 cups
  • Desiccated coconut - 50 gms
  • Green chillies - 5
  • Ginger - 1 small piece
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  • Dhania - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for deep - frying
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves - little
