Avalamrutha
Beaten rice or poha is commonly used as a savoury or in payasam. This is an attractive dish with cashew nuts and raisins.
Preparation time: 10 minutes

Step 2: When the syrup is ready, add rinsed, beaten rice, coconut and cook for 2 minutes. Add ghee and mix well.
Step 3: Serve when it gets cold.
Beaten rice or Avalakki - 3 katoris
Jaggery - 1 katoris
Coconut or Dry copra - 1/2 katori
Milk - 1 and 1/2 katoris
Cardamom - 1 tbsp
Cashew nut and Raisins - 1/2 katori
Ghee - 1/2 katori
Method
Step 1: Soak beaten rice for 1 hour. Take milk in a thick bottomed vessel, let it boil. Add cardamom, cashew nuts and raisins and powdered jaggery.Step 2: When the syrup is ready, add rinsed, beaten rice, coconut and cook for 2 minutes. Add ghee and mix well.
Step 3: Serve when it gets cold.
