Avarekalu Obbattu Field Beans
Obbattu is a south Indian festival sweet. Here it is turned into a savoury. It can also be eaten at dinner time for a nice change.
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour
Serves: 6
Step 2: Mix the paste with the cooked avarekalu and mash them fine, using fingers. Add salt to taste. Take a ball of the maida or wheat flour dough, roll them and stuff the prepared filling.
Step 3: Cover and roll them on the rolling plank with a plastic sheet or banana leaf. Heat a non - stick tava and put little oil and cook both sides till it turns brown.
Step 4: Serve hot with ghee.
Avarekalu - 2 katoris
Green chillies - 10 to 12
Grated coconut - 1 katori
Jeera - 1 tbsp
Asafoetida - a pinch
Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking
