Beetroot Halwa
Instead of the more common carrot halwa, try this beetroot halwa and you'll be surprised.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4
Step 2: Add sugar, cardamom, cashew nut and cook till the sugar melts. Add ghee and keep frying till all the milk get absorbed. (when ghee is added, colour of the beetroot will be regained)
Step 3: Serve when it gets cold.
Beet root (grated) - 4 katoris
Milk - 3 katoris
Sugar - 1 katori
Cardamom - 1 tbsp
Cashews - 2 tbsp
Ghee - 1 katori
Method
Step 1: Grate the beetroot. Cook in a thick bottomed kadai with milk (Colour will be turned little light).Step 2: Add sugar, cardamom, cashew nut and cook till the sugar melts. Add ghee and keep frying till all the milk get absorbed. (when ghee is added, colour of the beetroot will be regained)
Step 3: Serve when it gets cold.
