Bottle Gourd Kurma

Method

Step 1: Wash, peel and scour the bottle gourd.
Step 2: Mix mint ground paste, salt and 1 and 1/2 cup of milk and cook till the mixture becomes tender.
Step 3: Heat 2 tbsp of butter in a pan, add ground paste II and fry. Add the cooked bottle gourd and keep on the fire again for 5 - 6 minutes, keep aside.
Step 4: Heat again pan with 2 tbsp of butter and fry the corn flour for a while.
Step 5: Add pepper powder and 1 and 1/2 cup of milk. Cook for few minutes. Then add lemon juice, take off from heat.
Step 6: Now arranger the cooked Bottle gourd in a shallow dish and spread the lemon juice mixture over it.
Step 7: Arrange tomato slices, green chillies and bake for 10 minutes at 1800c
Step 8: Server with; Nan or bread.

Ingredients

  • Bottle gourd - 400 gms
  • Milk - 3 cups
  • Corn flour - 2 tsp
  • Butter - 50 gms
  • Lime - 2 for juices
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Tomato - 1 (slice finely)
  • Green chillies - 3 (chop finely)
  • Grind to paste: I

  • Mint leaves - 1 small bunch
  • Grind to Paste: II

  • Grated fresh coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1 small piece
  • Garlic - 4 flakes
