Calming Cumin Chutney

A traditional choice for nursing mothers and those with weak livers or indigestion.

  • Serves: 4

    Method

    Step 1: Fry bengal gram daal, urad daal, and green gram daal till golden brown.
    Step 2: Fry jeera separately.
    Step 3: Mix all the other ingredients and grind into fine chutney (sprinkle little water).
    Step 4: It is always better to make it into dry powder and store it.

    Ingredients

  • Bengal gram daal - 1 tbsp
  • Urad daal - 1 tbsp
  • Green gram daal - 1/2 tbsp
  • Jeera - 2 tbsp
  • Red chillies - 5 - to 6
  • Pepper corns - a few
  • Dry copra - 3 tbsp
  • Tamarind - optional
  • Salt to taste
