Capsicum Bhath

Method

Step 1: wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes. Drain and add 4 cups of water and cook till done. Keep it cool.
Step 2: Grind roasted gram and red chillies into a coarse powder.
Step 3: Cut capsicums into 1 cm square pieces.
Step 4: Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when starts crackling add black gram dhal, turmeric powder, salt and capsicums.
Step 5: Fry till capsicums turn light colour and soft.
Step 6: Now split ground roasted gram powder and stir for a minute.
Step 7: Add cooked rice to the capsicum mixture and stir gently and serve hot.
Step 8: If like to taste alike optionally add garam masala powder and ghee also. It will come good aroma.

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Green capsicums - 1/4 kg
  • Black gram - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/s tsp
  • Roasted gram - 1 tbsp
  • Red chillies - 2
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
