Carrot and Beans Kurma

Method

Step 1: Scrape carrots and cut into small pieces, cut beans into small pieces and steam cook.
Step 2: Cut tomatoes finely.
Step 3: Grind fresh coconut, green chillies, poppy seeds, ginger, garlic flakes into a paste, adding little water from time to time.
Step 4: Heat oil in a pan add cloves, cinnamon and tomatoes fry for few minutes. Add ground mixture and stir well
Step 5: Add turmeric powder, salt , cooked carrots, beans with pour whipped curds and add 2 cups of water and stir well .
Step 6: Bring to boil till gravy becomes thick,
Step 7: Serve hot with parathas (or) Puries and set dosa.

Ingredients

  • Carrot - 1/4 kg
  • Fresh beans - 100 gms
  • Fresh coconut - 1/2 cup (Grated)
  • Green chillies - 6
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds - 2 tsp
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Galic - 6 Flakes
  • Cloves - 4
  • Cinnamon stick - small piece
  • Salt to taste
  • Whipped curds - 1 tbsp
