Crumbs Curry

Don't let bread crumbs go waste. Use them to prepare this soft and buttered curry with potato and capsicum. Top it with grated cheese for a continental look.

  • Method

    Step 1: Cut potatoes into even sized pieces and boil in salt water for a few minutes. Heat half the quantity of butter with oil in a thick bottomed kadai.
    Step 2: Fry chopped onions and garlic and sliced capsicum. Add tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper. Let it form into a thick sauce.
    Step 3: Melt the remaining butter in another pan and fry the bread crumbs till golden brown and crisp.
    Step 4: Place the cooked potatoes in a dish and pour the prepared sauce and sprinkle the bread crumbs and grated cheese. *while preparing the sauce, a cup of water mixed with little milk can be added.

  • Potatoes (cubed) - 3 katoris
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Garlic - 1/4 tsp
  • Onion (chopped) - 3 tbsp
  • Capsicum (sliced) - 1 katori
  • Tomato (chopped) - 1 katori
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Salt and pepper - 1 tbsp
  • Bread crumbs - 1 katori
  • Cheese - 2 small cubes
