Cumin Dosa

Method

Step 1: Grind grated coconut, cumin seeds into a fine paste.
Step 2: Mix with dosa batter and add salt to taste stir well. (The consistency should be light thick batter).
Step 3: Heat dosa tawa, grease it little oil, pit I ladleful batter on to the tawa. The dosa edges pour around little oil and cook till crisp.
Step 4: Serve hot with sambar and chutney.

Method For Dosa Batter

Step 1: Wash, dhal and rice with methi seeds, cooked rice and rice flakes in little enough water for at least 5 hours.
Step 2: Grind to a smoth paste with a little water.
Step 3: Allow to ferment at least over night. Next day add salt to taste and mix well.
Step 4: Use this batter above the recipe.

Ingredients

  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Fresh coconut - 1 and 1/2 cups (Grated)
  • Oil - as required
  • Salt to taste
  • For Basic Dosa batter

  • Raw rice - 21/2 cups
  • Black gram - 1 cup
  • Methi seeds - A pinch
  • Cooked rice - handful
  • Rice flakes - handful
  • Salt to taste
