Dahi Bara – Yogurt and Fritter
Method
Fritter Balls
Step 1: Soak urad dal overnight.Step 2: Drain excess water.
Step 3: Add green chili, asafetida and grind to paste.
Step 4: Heat oil in wok, karahi or any other frying pan.
Step 5: Fry small flat ball (1 to 1.5 inch diameter) on medium brown until golden brown.
Step 6: Drain off excess oil.Yogurt Dressing:
Step 7: Add salt, pepper, and garam masala in yogurt and mix well.Serving:
Step 8: Put in salted water for 5 minutes.
Step 9: Remove and squeeze water.
Step 10: Add (in excess) yogurt mixture over urad fritters (Bara).
Step 11: Sprinkle cumin and cilantro (coriander) leaves over and serve.
Step 12: Make the yogurt dressing better (thicker and creamier) by putting yogurt in muslin cloth and draining all excessive water from yogurt.
