Method
Step 1: In a pan roast green gram on medium heat till light brown.Step 2: Cut onion and tomatoes finely.
Step 3: Dice all the vegetables, add enough water and cook in pressure cooker and drain and keep aside.
Step 4: Put gram water, turmeric powder, salt in cooker and cook in pressure cooker. Remove from heat and mash lightly.
Step 5: Heat oil or ghee in a pan season with mustard when crackling add cumin seeds and brokend red chillies . Fry lightly.
Step 6: Add chopped onions and fry till colour. Add tomatoes, coconut, cook until tomatoes pulpy and oil show separately, stirring occasionally.
Step 7: Mix boiled vegetables and cooked dhal and enough water to keep simmer on low flame for 5 - 8 minutes.
Step 8: Remove from fire, Serve hot, garnish with curry leaves.
