Dosa

Method

Step 1: Wash the rice, black gram and methi seeds. Soak them in a little water along with presses rice and cooked rice for at least 5 hours.
Step 2: Grinda to a smooth paste with a little water. Cover and keep aside for at least five to seven hours. Add salt to taste and mix well. (The consistency should be medium thick batter. )
Step 3: This batter can be used as basic for preparing masala dosa, sada, dosa, onion uttapam, Mysore masala dosa, spring dosa, etc.
Step 4: Use a stainless steel cup to pour the dosa batter onto the tawa, spread evenly. The dosa edges pour around little oil and cook till crisp.

Ingredients

  • Raw (Boiled) rice - 500 gms
  • Black gram (Urad dhal) - 100 gms
  • Methi seeds - A pinch
  • Cooked rice - handful
  • Pressed rice - (Poha) - handful
  • Salt to taste
