Egg Raita

Method

Step 1: Beat thick curds with salt, turmeric, chilli powder and lemon juice, till it becomes smooth.
Step 2: Keep aside for three hours atleast before serving.
Step 3: Boil eggs, shell and keep aside.
Step 4: Cook green peas in boiling water till soft.
Step 5: Drain and add to curds.
Step 6: Heat oil, put fenugreek, cumin, slit green chillies, garlic flakes and asafoetida.
Step 7: Pour over curds.
Step 8: Fold boiled eggs and cut coriander leaves.
Step 9: Leave for one hour and serve at room temperature.

Ingredients

  • Fresh curds - 1 cup
  • Eggs - 4
  • Green peas - 1 cup shelled
  • Lime juice - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - as desired
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Garlic - 4 flakes
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
