Egg Tikkis

Method

Step 1: Boil eggs, remove shells and keep aside.
Step 2: Slice vertically into two pieces.
Step 3: Boil potatoes, peel and mash.
Step 4: Soak bread slice one by one in water, squeeze and add it to mashed potatoes with finely cut onions, coriander mint leaves and other masala powders.
Step 5: Mix like a thick dough.
Step 6: Divide the dough into 20 equal portions.
Step 7: Take one portion, makelike a ball, make a dent inside, keep an egg piece inside.
Step 8: Shape like cutlets, and cover properly.
Step 9: Deep fry in hot oil. Serve with ketchup or mint chutney.
Step 10: Channa masala also goes very well with these tikkis.

Ingredients

  • Eggs - 10 or 12
  • Potatoes - 3/4kg
  • Bread - 10 slices
  • Onions - 3 or 4
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp.
  • Mint leave - 1 tbsp (optional)
  • Salt - as required
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli paste - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp (powder)
  • Dhania powder - 2 tsps
  • Oil - enough to deep fry
