Fresh Mint Rice
Method
Step 1: Wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes. Drain colander and add 3 1/2 cups of fresh water and cook till done.Step 2: Dry roast black gram dhal till light golden colour.
Step 3: Heat tsp of oil in a 'Kadai', add mint leaves and green chillies, fry till mint leaves sound is lost.
Step 4: Grind roasted gram, mint leaves with green chillies, fresh curd, ginger and grated coconut into a fine paste, by adding water from time to time.
Step 5: Heat oil in a 'tawa' and add mustard seeds, when it starts crackling add ground paste, turmeric powder with salt, stir fry for a minute. Remove from fire.
Step 6: Now mix with cooked rice and stir properly, over rice
Step 7: Serve hot with Dhal vadai.
