Hayagreeva

A soft and well blended daal with jaggery, perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

  • Preparation time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking time: 40 minutes
  • Serves: 6
  • Method

    Step 1: soak bengal gram daal for 1 hour. Cook on a slow fire, till tender. (not too soft). Add powdered jaggery, cardamom, Kesar, and pacha karpura and keep stirring till jaggery melts.
    Step 2: Finally add 4 tbsp of ghee and keep on stirring till it leaves the edges.
    Step 3: Serve warm.

    Ingredients

  • Soaked bengal gram daal - 2 katoris
  • Jaggery (powdered) - 3 katoris
  • Cardamom - 1 tbsp
  • Kesar - 1 tsp or few strands,
  • Pure camphor essence - for flavour (pacha karpura)
  • Ghee - 4 tbsp
