Karthigai Pori Urundai

Ingredients

  • Puffed Rice (pori) - 1 cup
  • Powdered Jaggery - 1/2 cup
  • Crushed dry ginger - a pinch
  • Crushed black pepper - a pinch
  • Coconut pieces - 1/4 cup
  • Salt - a pinch

    Method

    Step 1: Clean the puffed rice.
    Step 2: Saute the coconut pieces.
    Step 3: Add water to jaggery powder and heat the solution in a thick bottomed vessel.
    Step 4: On getting a string consistency add the puffed rice, dry ginger, black pepper, coconut pieces and salt.
    Step 5: Mix them well and remove from fire.
    Step 6: Then grease your palms with ghee/oil and make the mixture into round medium-sized balls.
