Step 1: Chop onions and green chillies.Step 2: Cut garlic into pieces.
Step 3: Wash the yam and cook it for 10 minutes.
Step 4: Peel them and mash it properly.
Step 5: Add 1/4 cup of water to tamarind paste.
Step 6: Heat the oil.
Step 7: Add fennel seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Step 8: Now mix onions, garlic pieces and chillies.
Step 9: Stir it well.
Step 10: Now add mashed yams and turmeric powder.
Step 11: Pour tamarind paste and turn it well.
Step 12: Put it over medium flame till yams starts getting roasted.
Step 13: Karunai Kilangu Masiyal is ready.
