Kheer – Payasam

Method

Step 1: Soak the rice for half an hour and then drain it.
Step 2: Put milk and the rice on slow fire and stir continuously until the desired consistency is achieved.
Step 3: Add the sugar and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 4: Take it off and add the kewra essence.
Step 5: Decorate with silver foil and the raisins and almonds. Refrigerate it and then serve when desired.

Ingredients

  • Milk 2 and 1/2 litres
  • Sugar 6 tablespoons
  • Rice 3 fistfuls
  • Almonds 10 nos sliced
  • Raisins 2 teaspoons
  • Kevra essence 2 teaspoons
  • Silver foil optional
