Method

Step 1: Saute onion in shortening until golden brown.
Step 2: Add all spices and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 3: Add tomato and cook for 2 or 3 minutes.
Step 4: Then add ground meat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring frequently until almost dry.
Step 5: Serve hot with rice and roti.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground meat
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper (or according to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/4 lb. green peas
