Macarroni Gratin

Method

Step 1: Chop green beans into 1/2 cm long strips and peel carrots and chop into 1/2 cm long strips.
Step 2: Boil green beans, carrots with green peas, adding by water to enough, cook tild tender.
Step 3: Boil the macaroni in salted boiling water with oil. When macaroni is boiled, run it under cold water.
Step 4: Heat butter, toss macaroni and boiled vegetables and season with salt to taste and white pepper powder to taste.
Step 5: Add white sauce and halve the cheese into the buttered macaroni paste and vegetables.
Step 6: Put the mixture into an over- proof dish. Grate and sprinkle the remaining cheese on it and place the dish in a hot oven for the cheese to melt. Serve with tomato sauce.

For white sauce

Step 1: Boil milk with onion and then strain it.
Step 2: Heat butter and add flour. Cook white taking care that the colour does not change.
Step 3: Add boiled milk and stir it fast with a whisk, to avoid lump formation. Now add salt, pepper, nutmeg powder. Cook and remove from fire.

  • Macaroni or any pasta - 200 gms
  • Fresh green peas - 50 gms
  • Carrots - 4
  • Fresh beans - 50 gms
  • White pepper to taste
  • Grated cheese - 2 tbsp
  • Fresh butter - 2 tbsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • For white sauce

  • Onion - 1
  • Milk - 150 ml
  • White pepper to taste
  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • Plain flour - 2 tbsp
  • Nutmeg powder - 1/2 tsp
