Mandhi – Diwali Delights

Method

Step 1: Warm the water and add sugar to it. Sieve the maida and suji and mix well.
Step 2: Add 6 large spoons of ghee and mix well to the breadcrumbs stage.
Step 3: Mix the sugar syrup to this mixture slowly and knead it well.
Step 4: Then roll out the dough into small puri like balls of around 1/4 inch thickness.
Step 5: Then deep-fry them in ghee at medium fire. The mandhi should be dark brown in color.
Step 6: The above measurements would yield around 14 Mandhis.
