Masala Chitra Annamu

Method

Step 1: Wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes. Drain and add 6 cups of water and cook till done.
Step 2: Chop onions into thin strips.
Step 3: Heat oil in a pan add seasonings with mustard seeds, when it starts crackling, add bengal gram, black gram, fry till golden colour.
Step 4: Add peanuts and then chopped onions, fry till onions are soft.
Step 5: Add slat and ground paste, stir - fry till smells is good.
Step 6: Finally add cooked rice and stir gently and keep simmer on low flame for 1 or 2 minutes and serve hot with curd raitha (Pachaddi).

Ingredients

  • Rice 1 3 cups
  • Onion - 2
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Bengal gram - 1 tsp
  • Black gram - 1 tbsp
  • Peanuts (Roasted) - 2 tbsp
  • Oil - as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Grind to a paste

  • GRATED COCONUT (Fresh) - 2 cups
  • Green chillies - 8 - 10
  • Mint leaves - 2 medium bunch
  • Garlic - 8.10 flakes
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch 1 paste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
