Masala Gobi

Method

Step 1: Cut cauliflower into pieces mix 4 cups of hot water and 2 tsp of salt in a bowl. Immerse cauliflower for about 1/2 an hour and drain it.
Step 2: Graind masala to coarse paste and keep aside.
Step 3: Heat oil add the ground masala and fry in a medium flame until oil separates from it.
Step 4: Add tomatoes, 1/4 cup of water and salt. Cook till tomatoes are pulpy stirring occasionally.
Step 5: Add 1 tbsp of curds stir fry till the curds is well blended. Approx 1/2 minute. Add remaining curds in the same way a tbsp at a time all curds is used. Stir and fry till oil shows separation.
Step 6: Add cauliflower, fry for about 3 minutes turning on all sides to coast with masala.
Step 7: Ending with cauliflower stump down, away from heat, add 1/4 cup of water all around cauliflowers.
Step 8: Cook till the gravy turns fairly thick.
Step 9: Garnish with coriander leaves, serve hot.

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower - 1 big
  • Curd - 1/2 cup (beaten)
  • Tomatoes - 2 peel and chop finely
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves - 1 small bunch
  • Grind together

  • Onion - 2 big
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Galic - 10 flakes
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashewnuts - 10
  • Poppy seeds - 1 tsp
  • Dhania - 1 tsp
