Masala Peas Bhath

Method

Step 1: Wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Grind green chillies, garlic, grated coconut, cloves, cardamoms into a fine paste, by adding waster from time to time.
Step 3: Heat oil and ghee in a pressure pan, add cumin seeds, ground paste, stir - fry for a minute, add green peas and saute 1 or 2 minutes.
Step 4: Add soaked rice and salt with 4 cups of water, bring it to boil and cook till done, stir properly.
Step 5: Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Green peas (fresh) - 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic - 6 flakes
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Green chillies - 5
  • Cloves - 4
  • Cardamoms - 4
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (Chopped)
