Milk Sweet Pongal

Method

Step 1: wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Boil milk in pressure pan, add soaked rice, cook till tender.
Step 3: Heat 'tawa', add sugar stir for few minutes until sugar is dissolved. Add cardamoms and cooked rice, Stir for few minutes.
Step 4: Heat ghee in a pan, add cashewnuts, almonds, raisins, fry till colour,
Step 5: Pour into the rice mixture. Add little rose water to the rice and stir gently. Keep simmer in low flame for 1 - 2 minutes than serve hot.

Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Fresh milk - 6 cups
  • Sugar - 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Cashewnuts - 3 tbsp
  • Raisins - 2 tbsp
  • Almonds - 2 tbsp
  • Cardamoms - 4
  • Ghee - 4 tbsp
  • Rose water - little
