Step 1: Chop the onionsStep 2: Drain all the water and grind the dal properly.
Step 3: Grind fennel seeds and chillies in a blender.
Step 4: Heat the oil.
Step 5: Put grinded fennel seeds.
Step 6: Now add chopped onions and shredded cabbage.
Step 7: Saute them well.
Step 8: Mix turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.
Step 9: Add the grinded dal.
Step 10: Now fry it over medium flame.
Step 11: Fry till the mixture turns reddish brown.
Step 12: Serve it with sambhar rice.
