Nutritious Adai
Method
Step 1: Chop onions and peel carrots, grate in it. Chop capsicum into thinly medium strips. Chop coriander and curry leaves finely.Step 2: Soak the rice and the dhals separately for 3 - 4 hours. Drain the water and (keep aside the black gram). Make a paste of rice, Bengal gram and red gram (Thuvar dhal).
Step 3: Now, mix semolina (suji), salt and finely chopped onions, capsicums, grated carrots, coconut, asafetida into a ground paste and make medium thin consistency batter.
Step 4: Make thick paste green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves and black gram.
Step 5: Mix, all ingredients into a batter of dropping consistency.
Step 6: Grease a frying - pan preferably a non - stick pan, pour a ladleful of batter into it and make even rounds.
Step 7: Pour oil from the sides. When one side has been cooked turn it over carefully and cook the other side.
Step 8: Serve hot with green chutney and coconut chutney.
