Orange Cake

Method

Step 1: Sieve flour with salt and baking powder for three times.
Step 2: Divide sugar into half.
Step 3: Beat one half with curds, mix in diced cherries, cashews, raisins and orange peel.
Step 4: Beat other half of the sugar with butter and egg yolks.
Step 5: Add orange juice, curd mixture, essence, caramel sugar and flour.
Step 6: Mix gently with wooden ladle.
Step 7: Finally add stiffy beaten egg white.
Step 8: Fold in gently and bake.

Ingredients

  • Maidaa - 3 cups
  • Powdered sugar - 3 cups
  • Spice powder - (cinnamon, clove, cardamom and nut meg) - 1 tsp
  • Eggs - 3
  • Caramelised sugar - 2 tbsp
