Orange Peel Gojju

The peel of the orange is a rich source of Vitamin C. Next time you peel an orange, don't throw the peel away. Make this dish and surprise yourself.

  • Preparation time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking time: 30 minutes
  • Method

    Step 1: Cut the orange peel into tiny bits.
    Step 2: Fry the peels with mustard and red chilli in a little oil.
    Step 3: Add tamarind pulp and salt.
    Step 4: Cook till tender. (can add water if required. )
    Step 5: Add Rasam powder, asafoetida and jaggery.
    Step 6: Cook till it thickens.
    Step 7: Serve hot with plain rice.

    Ingredients

  • Orange Peel chopped - 1 katori
  • Red chillies - a few
  • Rasam powder - 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind pulp - 1/2 katori
  • Jaggery - 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Oil - 1 tbsp.
