Potato and Peas Masala with Egg

Method

Step 1: Boil eggs and remove shells.
Step 2: Heat oil and fry the ground masala paste II with diced potatoes and peas.
Step 3: Fry till oil separates.
Step 4: Pour water with little turmeric and salt.
Step 5: Cook till potatoes and peas become soft. Add boiled eggs and cook for some time.
Step 6: Fry frine;y cut onions, garlic and tomatoes.
Step 7: Pour over gravy and boil.
Step 8: Add coconut and poppy paste, just before removing from fire.
Step 9: Mix well, garnish with coriander leaves.
Step 10: Serve with time

Variation

Step 11: Omit Potatoes, do the recipe with peas and eggs alone.
Step 12: Boiled eggs can be into pieces and used in the recipe.
Step 13: In that case add the egg pieces, just before removing from fire.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 2 big
  • Fresh peas - 1/4 cup shelled
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - as required
  • Oil - 2 or 3 tbsps
  • Eggs - 6
  • Cut finely

  • Onions - 2
  • Garlic - 4 flakes
  • Tomatoes - 4
  • Grind to paste I

  • Cocount scrapping - 1/2 cup
  • Poppy seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Grind to paste II

  • Small onions peeled - 15
  • Garlic - 7 flakes
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
  • Ani seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Chilli powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
