Potato Stew

Method

Step 1: Grind Ginger, green chillies, garlic's and add little grated fresh coconut into a paste.
Step 2: Blend grated coconut with 1 cup of water extract. Return the residue to the jar. Add 1 and 1/2 cup of water and blend coconut second time strain the liquid take thin extract.
Step 3: Boil and peel the potatoes crush lightly with hands. So that some potatoes remains as rough pieces and some one crushed.
Step 4: Cut onion finely.
Step 5: Heat oil in a "kadai" season with mustard seeds when crackling put cumin seeds, little curry leaves, add onions and fry till soft. Add ground paste stir fry for a minute and pour thin extract.
Step 6: Add crushed potatoes and salt to boiling point.
Step 7: Add thick extract just as it begins to boil. Add if optionally sugar.
Step 8: Remove from fire, garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves, serve hot with appam or pulao.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 1/2 kg
  • Onions - 2
  • Ginger - 1 inch pieces
  • Garlic - 4 Flake
  • Fresh coconuts - 1 and 1/2 cup (grated)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 1 small bunch
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard sees - 1/4 tsp
