Rajmah Rice

  • Rajmah is a North Indian delicacy. Here, it is used a little differently to create a similar filling and tasty dish. Serve with any vegetable gravy and ht papads.

  • Method

    Step 1: Soak Rajmah over night. Pressure cook rajmah with little salt till soft.
    Step 2: Take little oil in a pressure cooker and fry onions brown.
    Step 3: Add pre washed rice and fry with the fried onions for some time.
    Step 4: Add sliced tomatoes and salt.
    Step 5: Now add required quantity of water and cook the rice till each grain separates or 2 whistles.
    Step 6: Cool the rice on a plate.
    Step 7: Take a kadai, add little oil and fry the chopped spring onions add cooked rajmah.
    Step 8: Mix salt and pepper. Pour the prepared rajmah over the cooled rice and mix slowly with a wooden ladle and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.

    Ingredients

  • Rajmah - 1/2 katori (soaked overnight)
  • Rice - 2 katoris
  • Onions sliced - 1 katori
  • Tomato sliced - 1 katori
  • Spring onions chopped - 1/2 katori
  • Pepper powder - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
