Raw Mango Gravy for Rice

Method

Step 1: Wash and peel mangoes cut into thin slices.
Step 2: Boil with salt, turmeric powder and jeggery. Allow to cool.
Step 3: Grind the coconut with green chillies, cashewnuts to a smooth paste.
Step 4: Beat the curds and add to the ground mixture. Beat well and add to the mango mixture.
Step 5: Place it over the fire. When the mixture boils, add 2 cups of water and boil again . remove from fire.
Step 6: For tempering it with oil, add mustard seeds, to splutter, put curry leaves and pour over gravy, serve hot with plain rice.

Ingredients

  • Raw mangoes - 2 medium
  • Curds - 2 cups
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Jaggery - a lime sized
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Slat to taste
  • Curry leaves - A springs
  • Grind together
