Raw Mango Sag

Method

Step 1: Wash and peel mangoes cut into a cubs.
Step 2: slice onions and green chillies, cut ginger into small Flakes.
Step 3: Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds to crackle, add onions, green chillies and ginger.
Step 4: Fry till translucent add mango cubes and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 5: Add coconut milk and simmer on low fire.
Step 6: When mango pieces are half cooked, add salt, lime juice and curry powder and cover the pan and keep for 5 minutes.
Step 7: Remove from fire. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with chapatti or rice.

Ingredients

  • Semi - ripe mangoes - 4
  • Onions - 2
  • Green chillies - 4
  • Ginger - 1 small pieces
  • Thick coconut milk - 1 cup
  • Curry powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 1 small bunch (chop finely)
  • Lemon - For juice
  • Salt to taste
