Rice Adai

Method

Step 1: Wash and soak the rice for 15 minuts. Drain out water and add fresh water more than double the amount of rice in it.
Step 2: Boil the rice until it is tender. Strain the remaining water and keep it aside.
Step 3: Now, crush the boiled rice in a grinder or a mixi and convert it into paste from. Then, add a little of the strained rice water and 3 tbsp gram flour to it.
Step 4: Make a thick batter and add chopped onion, tomato, black pepper, gram chillies, coriander leaves in it.
Step 5: Mix ground paste into the boiled rice paste together add salt, stir mix it.
Step 6: Heat oil in a dosa tawa. Spread the batter on it and put some ghee or oil all round its sides.
Step 7: Sprinkle some boiled rice on it and turn the side when it gets cooked from one side. Put on the other side and cook till brown.
Step 8: Serve steaming hot with sauce or green chutney.

  • Rice - 1 cup
  • Onion - 1 (Chopped)
  • Tomato - 1 (Chopped)
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 7 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (Chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Gram flour - 3 tbsp
