Rice Dumplings

Method

Step 1: Wash and soak the rice for at least 3 - 4 hours.
Step 2: Then grind it to a coarse paste with thick coconut milk along with little water.
Step 3: Add grated coconut, baking powder and salt. Mix well.
Step 4: Steam this paste in a vessel for 10 - 15 minutes.
Step 5: Remove and immediately shape like idlis.
Step 6: Steam again for 15 - 20 minutes.
Step 7: Serve with any curry or tomato kurma.

Ingredients

  • Boiled (Raw) rice - 3 cups
  • Thick coconut milk - 1 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Baking Powder - A pinch
