Rice Pooris with Chutney

Rice flour Poori are delicious served straight out of the frying pan. The chutney accompanying it is a simple coconut one.

  • Method

    Step 1: Mix all the ingredients with little water and make the dough. Dough should be little hard.
    Step 2: Make in into little balls and press them into pooris on a plastic sheet or banana leaf and deep fry.
    Step 3: This should be consumed when it is hot. If not, it will become little elastic.
    Step 4: Serve hot with coconut chutney.

    Method for Poori

    Step 1: Fry all the ingredients till golden brown.
    Step 2: When it gets cold, blend them in a mixer and season with mustard seeds and curry leaves.

  • Rice flour - 4 katoris
  • Maida - 1 and 1/2 katoris
  • Salt to taste
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Oil for trying

  • Coconut - 1 katori
  • Bengal gram daal - 2 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 4 to 5
  • Red chillies - 4
  • Coriander leave - 1/2 bunch
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind pulp - 1 tsp.
