Rose Flavour Rice

Method

Step 1: Wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Soak saffron and raisins in little warm milk.
Step 3: Heat the oil and roast the soaked rice together with cardamoms, cloves and black pepper.
Step 4: When rice is slightly roasted, pour the saffron milk mixture with rose water and one cup of fresh water and salt to taste, cook the rice till done.
Step 5: Add green peas with cooked rice and stir gently.
Step 6: Decorate the rice with saffron and serve with sweet curd.
Step 7: For Sweet curd - Beat the curd with sugar and mix with almonds and raisins, serve with rice.

Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Fresh milk - 1 cup
  • Rose water - 100 ml
  • Green peas - 100 gms (Boiled)
  • Saffron - 5 gms
  • Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Cloves - 4
  • Cardamoms - 5
  • Raisins - 1 tbsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • For sweet curd
  • Fresh curd - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Raisins - 2 tsp
  • Almonds - 5
