Saveghea Bhath

Method

Step 1: Make small pieces of rice semia and keep aside.
Step 2: Chop green coriander leaves and cut green chillies into lingth wise finely.
Step 3: Heat oil in a kadai, season with mustard seeds and whent it starts crackle, add Bengal gram, black gram.
Step 4: Fry till golden colour, then add green chillies, fry for a minute or two, then add turmeric powder and salt. Remove from fire.
Step 5: Add immediately rest of rice semia (Idiappams) and sprinkle the lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
Step 6: Mix well and serve with coconut chutney or vegetable kurma.

Ingredients

  • Idiappam (Rice semia) - 10 Nos
  • Bengal gram - 2 tbsp
  • Black gram - 2 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 6 - 8
  • Lemon - 3 - 4
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - 1 little
  • Salt to taste
