Savouri Rice Bhath

Method

Step 1: Heat oil and seasonings with mustard seed, cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, turmeric powder in a pan until the mustard begin to crackle.
Step 2: Transfer to a pan , add the rice with 4 cups of water, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, coconut, green chillies and stir on a low flame.
Step 3: Add lemon juice and jaggery and salt. Cook covered until the rice is soft.
Step 4: Stir - properly and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with stuffed brinjal curry.

Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Green peas (Fresh) - 1/2 cups
  • Desiccated coconut - 50 gms (Roasted)
  • green chillies - 2
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Cardamoms - 4
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 small piece
  • Cloves - 3
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida - A pinch
  • Jaggery - 1 tsp (Optional )
  • Lemon - 1
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves - few
