Spicy Peas and Cauliflower Curry

Method

Step 1: Wash and cut off the main stalk of the cauliflower and keep in salted hot water for 10 minute.
Step 2: Remove and drain it, fry in hot oil or ghee till it is light brown in colour, keep aside.
Step 3: In a pan fry onions till they are golden brown. Add curds and grind it to a fine paste and keep aside.
Step 4: Heat ghee or oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, when it splutters mix ground masala paste and fry for few minutes, add onions curds mixture and peas with the cauliflower.
Step 5: Pour enough water, salt. Cover and cook till gravy becomes thick and peas till tender.
Step 6: Garnish with coriander leaves.
Step 7: Omit cashewnuts, instead use coconut (grated) for ground paste.

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower - 1 medium
  • Fresh Peas - 1 cup (shelled)
  • Onion s - 2 (sliced)
  • Curds - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 3 tsp (or according to need) or oil
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Grind together

  • Poppy seeds - 1 tbsp (to roast)
  • Ginger - 1 inch small piece
  • Red chillies - 3
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashewnuts - 8
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
