Sweet Idlis

Mehod

Step 1: Wash the rice and black gram, soak separately in water for 6 hours.
Step 2: Grind separately without more water till it is thick batter.
Step 3: Mix together dhal and rice batter, and Keep over night to rest.
Step 4: Next morning, add sugar, cardamom powder, raisins, cashewnuts. Stir well
Step 5: Grease idli moulds, pour the batter and steam for 15 - minutes or until they are done.
Step 6: Serve slightly cooled with sweet coconut chutney.

Ingredients

  • Boiled (Raw rice) - 2 cups
  • Black gream dhal - 1/2
  • Cardamoms - 4 (Grounded)
  • Cashewnuts - 20 (Roasted)
  • Raisins - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 cup (Castor)
