Sweet Pongal

Method

Step 1: Heat milk in a pressure pan, bring it full boil. Add rice. Stir cook till the rice is tender.
Step 2: Heat little ghee in a frying pan, add cashewnuts and fry till colour keep aside.
Step 3: Heat heavy bottom pan, crushed jaggery, stir for few minutes until jaggery is dissolved.
Step 4: Add cardamoms, raisins and fried cashewnuts, stir gently.
Step 5: Pour cooked rice mixture, keep simmer for few minutes on a low flame, stir and pour little ghee evenly in to the top and serve hot.

Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Milk - 2 and 1/2 cups
  • Jaggery - 200 gms (Crushed)
  • Cashewnuts - 50 gms
  • Raisins - 50 gms
  • Cardamoms - 4 - 6
  • Ghee - 3 tbsp
