Tandoori Poppyseed Roti

Method

Step 1: Sieve the flour, sugar, salt and soda - bicarb, baking powder. Add the ghee or butter and rub with fingers till the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Keep aside.
Step 2: Beat curd and milk together. Now add it to the flour and knead a smooth dough.
Step 3: Knead well for 8 - 10 minutes. Cover and keep in a warm place for 2 - 3 hours.
Step 4: Divide the dough into 6 portions and using a little flour, roll out rotis.
Step 5: Apply a little ghee on the top with a brush and sprinkle poppy seeds and white sesame seeds. Press a little with the hand.
Step 6: Apply water on the bottom side and cook in a hot tandoori or oven.
Step 7: When done, remove from the tandoor and apply a little butter on top and serve hot with any curry.

  • Maida - 1 cup
  • Peppy seeds - 3 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds - 3 tbsp (White)
  • Fresh milk - 1/4 cup
