Tomato Chilli Rasam – Hot and Spicy Indian soup
Method
Step 1: Cook the arhar dal with turmeric powder and half a litre of water.Step 2: Strain the dal and mash it.
Step 3: Soak the tamarind in warm water and sieve it to get the juice.
Step 4: Bring one cup water to boil and add the chopped tomatoes, tamarind juice, asfoetida, chopped coriander, curry leaves and rasam powder.
Step 5: Heat ghee and temper it with mustard seeds and red chillies and pour over the rasam.
Step 6: Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
