Toovar Daal Vegetable Tikkis
These are little golden balls, crisp and crunchy. The use of Toovar daal is unusual.

Step 2: Fry onions till golden brown. Now add ginger garlic paste and fry for some more time. Now add all the chopped vegetables and sprinkle water and salt. Cook till the vegetables are tender.
Step 3: Cool the mixture. Than add garam masala dhania and chilli powder. Mix maida or besan flour along with cooked daal to the above mixture.
Step 4: Add lime and salt. Make small balls and press them on your palm and shallow fry pouring little oil on the non-stick pan till golden brown.
Step 5: Serve with tomato sauce or pudina chutney.
Toovar daal (cooked) - 4 tbsp
Potatoes (sliced) - 1 katori
Carrots (chopped) - 1/2 katori
Onion (chopped) - 1/2 katori
Cauliflower (florets) - 1/2 katori
Peas (shelled) - 1/2 katori
Ginger garlic - 1 tbsp
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Garam masala - 1 tbsp
Dhania powder - 1 tbsp
Maida or besan - 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Lime juice - 1 tbsp
Oil - for frying.
Method
Step 1: Cook daal with very little water till soft (let it not be too soft). Take a kadai, heat little oil.Step 2: Fry onions till golden brown. Now add ginger garlic paste and fry for some more time. Now add all the chopped vegetables and sprinkle water and salt. Cook till the vegetables are tender.
Step 3: Cool the mixture. Than add garam masala dhania and chilli powder. Mix maida or besan flour along with cooked daal to the above mixture.
