Vegetable Perattal

Ingredients

  • 2 Potatoes
  • 2 Carrots
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1/2 Cup peas
  • 1/2 Cup coconut (shredded)
  • 2 Garlic flakes
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Poppy seeds
  • 5 Red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powdrr
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Roasted gram
  • Green curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

    Method

    Step 1: Grind fennel seeds, poppy seeds, gram, red chillies and coconut to make a paste.
    Step 2: Peel the potatoes and carrots.
    Step 3: Cut potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and onion into pieces.
    Step 4: Boil carrots and potatoes for 10 minutes one by one.
    Step 5: Drain all the water.
    Step 6: Heat the oil and add green curry leaves.
    Step 7: Add onions and tomatoes.
    Step 8: Mix peas and stir it.
    Step 9: Add boiled carrots and potatoes.
    Step 10: Mix turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.
    Step 11: Now add grinded paste.
    Step 12: Turn over the mixture well.
    Step 13: Cook till the mixture turns thick like gravy and Vegetable Perattal is ready to serve now.
